U.S. House appoves increased health, education funds

(Reuters) - By a vote of 276-140, the House passed the $607 billion
bill with the support of about 50 of Bush's fellow Republicans.
A similar bill is pending in the Senate and it was unclear
whether Congress could overturn a presidential veto.




Bush, touring the Nashville Bun Company in Tennessee, said
of Democrats, "If they overspend or if they try to raise your
taxes, I'm going to veto their bills."
