Coffee Rises in New York on Concerns Cold Weather May Hurt Crop in Brazil

(Bloomberg) -- Coffee rose to the highest in almost
four weeks in New York on speculation that colder-than-normal
weather in Brazil, the world's largest producer, may develop into
a crop-damaging frost.

Temperatures in Brazil's coffee-growing regions will be near
to below normal today, with lows around 45 degrees Fahrenheit (7
Celsius), according to Meteorlogix LLC in Woburn, Massachusetts.
Cold air will move over southern Brazil today, and a separate
high-pressure ridge may bring cooler-than-normal temperatures
into the coffee belt next week, the forecaster said.
