(Bloomberg) -- An index of Silicon Valley stocks
reached a six-year high today, led by Apple Inc., Hewlett-
Packard Co. and Electronic Arts Inc.
The Bloomberg Silicon Valley Index, a price-weighted list
of companies with significant business in the region, gained
2.83, or 0.5 percent, to 599.56, after touching 603.38, its
highest since Nov. 8, 2000. Advancing stocks outnumbered those
that declined 25 to eight, with none unchanged.
