S.Africa maize prices follow Chicago down

(Reuters) - South African maize prices dipped on Friday, breaking the key 1,650 rand level as Chicago prices fell on the back of good planting weather in the United States.

The main July white maize contract closed 2.68 percent down at 1,634 rand a tonne, down 7.4 percent this week. That compares to highs of above 2,000 rand touched in March when supply issues dominated trade.
