UPDATE 1-France's Sarkozy says urgent to end EU paralysis

(Reuters) - Germany and France must work together to find solutions to the problems, he told a news conference during a flying visit to Berlin for talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel just hours after he formally took office.

"The first emergency is to get the European Union out of its current paralysis," he said. "For that, it is necessary that Germany, which today holds the EU presidency, and France, which has always been its privileged partner in Europe, see eye to eye on this."
