Atmel, Boeing, Evergreen Solar, FMC, Limited Brands: U.S. Equity Preview

(Bloomberg) -- The following is a list of companies
whose shares may have unusual price changes in U.S. exchanges
tomorrow. This preview includes news that broke after exchanges
closed June 8. Stock symbols are in parentheses after company
names.

Atmel Corp. (ATML US): The maker of chips for mobile phones
and DVD players said it received a subpoena from the U.S. Justice
Department about its past stock-option practices. The subpoena
was delivered in January, the company said in a filing with the
Securities and Exchange Commission. Atmel also released financial
statements that had been delayed by its own probe into stock-
option grants. The stock rose 6 cents to $5.63 in regular
trading.

RPT-IPO-VIEW-U.S. IPOs take off amid stock market falter

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, June 10 - U.S. stocks stumbled last
week, but not enough to take the bloom off initial public
offerings.




"The IPO market does most often run in lock-step with the
market," said Scott Sweet, managing director for research firm
IPOboutique.com. "However, there are deviations like
week, which some are calling a normal, healthy correction."

Lone Star halts talks with DBS on KEB sale: report

(Reuters) - South Korean prosecutors said in December that the $1.2 billion acquisition was illegal because of flaws in the sale process.




Grayken said in translated Korean that DBS had approached Lone Star after talks for a $7.3 billion sale of KEB to top South Korean lender Kookmin Bank were terminated in November.

BP slows Texas refinery output after glitch

(Reuters) - No BP officials were not immediately available to comment.




The Texas City refinery has a capacity to process 460,000 barrels of crude oil per day but has been running at just over half that level since a deadly explosion and damage from hurricanes crippled parts of the plant in 2005.

More second-term blues for Bush on immigration

(Reuters) - The bipartisan immigration compromise unraveled in the
Senate on Thursday night in the face of opposition from the
left and right -- including many of Bush's fellow Republicans.




"An administration that practiced such effective message
control in its first term now looks completely impotent," said
Georgetown University political analyst Stephen Wayne. "They
are stuck in their tracks."

US interest-rate rise could hurt consumer spending

(Reuters) - The surge in U.S. interest rates this week could spell higher costs for consumers, crimping their spending and cutting into economic growth.

Indeed, there is a sense globally that the days of low- cost loans and cheap money -- which fueled everything from consumer spending and investment strategies to company mergers -- may be over.

Altria to test Marlboro smokeless tobacco product

(Reuters) - Snus are small pouches of dried tobacco that users place in the mouth. Unlike chewing tobacco or so-called "dip," Snus do not require spitting.




Marlboro Snus, modeled after products that are popular in Sweden, will come in four varieties -- rich, mild, mint and spice, according to a release e-mailed to Reuters on Friday.
